Weather to Skiweathertoski.co.ukDetailed snow report for 30 January 2026 covering the Alps, other European ski resorts, and North American (US and Canada) ski resorts, including current snow depths,
conditions, and forecasts.
Snow conditions in the Alps are broadly very good, following multiple snowfalls in most regions over recent days.
The best snow conditions are in the western and southern Alps (i.e. France and Italy), which have seen the lion’s share of recent snowfalls.
There is also some very good skiing, especially on-piste, in Switzerland and Austria, which have also seen some snow albeit generally less than elsewhere.
The next big storm, due early next week, will favour the southern Alps.
Elsewhere in Europe the Pyrenees’ outstanding season continues, while across the pond the best snow conditions are still in the Canadian Rockies and lesser-known ski resorts in the eastern
US...

Snow Report: Austria – 30 January 2026This
section covers the 30 January 2026 snow report for Austria, including current snow depths at key ski resorts, the condition of slopes and pistes, which ski areas are open, and a brief forecast of
snow over the next few days.
Austrian ski resorts have received useful top-ups of snow in recent days, even if they haven’t seen as much as areas further south and west.
In the far south, Nassfeld (25/130cm) has done better than most with 20cm or so of snow falling as recently as yesterday. Further north, Obertauern (50/120cm) can
also offer some good skiing despite snow depths here (as with most other Austrian ski areas) remaining below par for the middle of winter.
Austria looks set to miss most of the snow forecast further south early next week, although some southern regions like Carinthia and Osttirol could get in on the action by mid-week.

southern Alps.
Near Genava, La Clusaz has an impressive settled base of 60/210cm while, further south, Serre Chevalier has 85/170cm.
The next significant snowfall is forecast for the southern Alps late on Monday and on Tuesday, with the heaviest falls expected in the far south (e.g. Isola 2000).

Snow Report: Italy – 30 January 2026This
section covers the 30 January 2026 snow report for Italy, including current snow depths at key ski resorts, the condition of slopes and pistes, which ski areas are open, and a brief forecast of snow
over the next few days.
All Italian ski resorts have seen significant snowfalls in the last week, meaning that snow conditions are much improved, even if snow depths are generally still quite modest in places, including
Livigno (45/65cm) and Champoluc (50/85cm).
Snow depths are generally greater in the west, especially in the far south-west, where Prato Nevoso (150/220cm) continues its exceptional season.
More snow is expected in the Italian Alps next week: first in the south-west early in the week, before transferring further eastward mid-week.

a brief forecast of snow over the next few days.
All Swiss ski resorts have seen at least some snow over the last few days but, in most cases, it has been in quite modest quantities.
The far west of Switzerland has seen more snow than most this week, with great skiing right now in the Les Crosets-Champoussin region, where base depths are 88/127cm.
The far south-east of Switzerland has also seen significant snow, which has improved conditions in St Moritz (18/56cm) which had seen very little natural snow before the recent
storm.
Swiss ski resorts will miss most of the snow due in the southern Alps early next week, although some far southern ski resorts like Saas-Fee (40/208cm) may catch some moderate
falls spilling over the border from Italy.

Snow Report: Rest of Europe – 30 January 2026This section covers the 30 January 2026 snow report for European ski resorts outside of the Alps, including current snow depths at key resorts, the condition of slopes and pistes, which
ski areas are open, and a brief forecast of snow over the next few days.
The Pyrenees have now seen multiple heavy snowfalls over several weeks, making for excellent snow conditions across the board, with yet more snow forecast over the next few days! Spain’s
Formigal currently has settled depths of 170/280cm, while Andorra’s Arcalis has 200/250cm!
There is a lot of good skiing across Scandinavia too, with fresh snow earlier this week in Norway’s Hemsedal (45/75cm) which is currently in great shape.
Sweden’s Åre (40/55cm) has not seen any significant new snow for some time, although its pistes are also in good shape thanks to the frigid temperatures.
Scottish ski areas have seen significant snowfall this week, though they have often been stormbound, so openings have been sporadic. There could potentially be some great skiing here over the
weekend but do check with each individual ski area for openings and ticket restrictions.

Snow depths remain way below average across many western US areas, especially in Utah where Park City has upper snow depths of around 110cm.
Fresh snow earlier this week has improved things a little in Colorado’s Vail (105cm upper base), but more snow is needed to get even close to where it should be at this time of
year.
Further to the south-west, California’s Mammoth is doing somewhat better but is also slightly below par with 254cm up top.
The big story in the US is actually in the east, which is having one of its best seasons ever, with settled base depths of 152cm in Jay Peak, considerably above average.

Snow is falling today in Whistler (185cm mid-mountain base) where conditions are now excellent, especially at altitude, with more snow in the forecast over the weekend.
Further inland, Lake Louise (110/165cm) hasn’t seen a huge amount of snow since we last reported, but the skiing remains good thanks to the huge amounts of snow that fell here
earlier this season.
