Just 80km from the Côte d'Azur, Isola 2000's Mediterranean climate is very different to other Alpine resorts.

Snowfall is inconsistent, but often heavy and there can be masses of snow here when areas to the north are missing out.

Even in times of drought, Isola 2000's altitude and excellent snow-making make for very reliable snow cover. Come spring, however, the strong southern sun does bring increasingly variable snow quality.

Where to ski in bad weather:

Isola 2000 has plenty of trees for bad weather days.

If conditions are really bad, try the lower runs below the Pelevos gondola, but be wary of the Col de la Lombarde side which is prone to high winds at the top.
