Snowfall is a little lower in Aspen than in its chief rival Vail, and big powder days are infrequent.

Snow cover and quality are consistently good, however, helped by the quality of grooming and the relative lack of skier traffic.

Snow-making is also comprehensive and overall snow reliability is excellent.
