Valmorel has a low average skiing height compared with nearby big-name resorts such as Courchevel.

Its north facing Mottet area is highest and holds its snow well, but elsewhere, while a serious lack of snow is rare, snow quality is more variable.

Snow-making is comprehensive on the runs back to resort.
