The Val d’Anniviers is one of the drier valleys in the Swiss Alps, but there is plenty of high altitude skiing available and the slopes hold their snow well.

The best quality snow is often found on the high east-facing slopes above Zinal. By contrast, most of the St Luc area faces south-west and can suffer from the sun, especially in spring.
