Hintertux is arguably THE most snow-sure resort in the Alps.

Not only are most of its slopes on the glacier (open 365 days a year), but those that aren’t are still high, north-facing and covered by snow cannons.

Snow cover and quality is ultra-reliable, but crowds can be a problem if nearby resorts are suffering.

Where to ski in bad weather:

Although the glacier stays open in most weather, it is hardly the best place to be stuck in a white-out.

In really bad weather, head down the valley to Lanersbach, Finkenberg or Mayrhofen, where there is more shelter. However, note that even here open slopes greatly outnumber wooded ones.
